Step into a night where fashion meets fantasy at First Friday: Fashion Night Out at Phoenix Art Museum celebrating the newest exhibition Colorwear: A Kaleidoscope of Fashion. Enjoy colorful ensembles and whimsical accessories, featuring some of the smallest and most extraordinary objects in the Museum’s fashion holdings. For one evening, style becomes the center of a world of bold looks, artistic flair, and larger-than-life inspiration
Programming Highlights:
5:15–6 pm | Small Talk, Big Style. Join an intimate conversation with legendary designer Barbara Hulanicki and Helen Jean, the Jacquie Dorrance Curator of Fashion. They’ll discuss the details that make a major impact, exploring creativity, fashion history, and the art of dressing with attitude.
6–7 pm | Mic Check: Open Mic. An open invitation for voices, stories, and expressions, big or small, hosted by Rashaad Thomas.
7–7:45 pm | Serve your look. Step onto the runway for a fast-paced fashion “serve off.” Whether it’s a bold ensemble or a single accessory that steals the show, bring your big energy to compete for the evening’s top honors.
Other Activities Include:
• Fashion vision boards with Cut + Paste. Create mini collages inspired by Colorwear. Mix silhouettes, textures, and trends to imagine your next look.
• Sketch the runway. Draw the intricate details of live models alongside Sketchclub Cafe
• Strike a pose. Master the art of the perfect pose with Orlando Pelagio
• Little Free Library. Every great story deserves a little adventure. Come make your own mini book with us!
• Meet + Greet: Arizona Costume Institute. Meet members of ACI and learn about their mission to preserve, support, and celebrate the fashion collection at Phoenix Art Museum.
• Soundtrack Your Style. Live sets by DJ JME LEE all evening
• Charcuterie by Charcute Mobile AZ
• Drinks by ARTenders
