Eric Fischl: Stories Told Member Preview

PhxArt Members are invited to an exclusive preview of the Museum’s newest major exhibition in Steele Gallery, featuring the work of acclaimed artist Eric Fischl.
Eric Fischl: Stories Told brings together 40 large-scale works by the figurative painter, who grew up in Long Island, New York, and Phoenix, Arizona, and who has continued to explore the human figure and the myths of middle-class suburban America. This survey exhibition offers a timely opportunity to recontextualize Fischl’s within the contemporary moment, as figure painting experiences an international resurgence and as the artist continues to examine the possibilities, promises, disparities, and contradictions of the American experience.
As an added benefit, Members who attend this preview event will also have the opportunity to experience Radical Clay: Contemporary Women Artists from Japan and Florentine Baroque: The Haukohl Collection.
