Kids Day at PhxArt

Cardiff and Miller: The Instrument of Troubled Dreams

12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Free for Members | Included with general admission

Every second Sunday of the month, join Phoenix Art Museum for Kids Day! Enjoy special family friendly programming for all ages, including in-gallery art-making activities and Storytime programming designed to engage and connect visitors with the Phoenix Art Museum Collection and special exhibitions.

This July, Kids Day is inspired by the vibrant worlds of music and sound. Come experience the immersive soundscapes of the Museum's newest installation, The Instrument of Troubled Dreams (2018) by Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller, and dive into a symphony of fun:

  • Noon–5 pm | Use your creativity to compose a unique paper craft inspired by rhythm, music and sound
  • Noon–5 pm | Stop by to construct your own custom noisemaker out of everyday materials
  • 1:30–2 pm | Join us for a lively reading of the classic children’s book, Zin! Zin! Zin! a Violin by Lloyd Moss
  • 2–2:45 pm | Performance by The Phoenix Symphony

All activities are included with general admission.

Kids Day is made possible by Desert Financial Credit Union, with additional support from the Angela and Leonard Singer Endowment for Performing Arts, The Discount Tire Endowment for Children’s Art Programs, and the William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fund for Education Programs
