Pere Lembrí, The Coronation of the Virgin
Discover one of the newest acquisitions to European art collection when master docent Karen Kahler presents the rare gold-ground Coronation of the Virgin by Catalan master Pere Lembrí. Painted in the 1400s, the work was only attributed to the artist in 2004. Once part of a monumental altarpiece, this glowing panel of angels, saints, and celestial gold leaf is now among the oldest works in our collection.
Object of the Month is made possible by CMI Gold & Silver.
