The 2023 Eric Fischl Series guest artist is Scott Avett, internationally recognized as co-founder of the Grammy nominated band, The Avett Brothers. Scott's creativity is fueled by music and the visual arts, and until now- his art-making has largely been a solitary creative pursuit, as compared with his life as a musician, singer and songwriter. The 2023 Fischl Series is sure to capture the hearts and minds of artists and musicians alike, as Scott and Eric discuss the parallels between visual art, songwriting and music development.
Contemporary American painter, sculptor, author and Phoenix College alumnus Eric Fischl is shaping the future of art in Arizona and beyond by providing life-changing opportunities for students, as part of the Eric Fischl Series. The Fischl Series, hosted by Phoenix College and held at the Phoenix Art Museum, draws students, artists, and community members for engaging conversations about art.
The 2023 Fischl Series will be hosted on April 12, 2023, with support from Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix College, Varitec Solutions, Blick Art Materials, Lisa Sette Gallery, DL Withers Foundation, and Art Solutions & Installation, LLC.
