Join us for a panel discussion on accessibility within the arts scene as speakers shed light on challenges and opportunities for enhancing accessibility in traditional and non-traditional art spaces. The discussion will feature four artists and arts administrators alongside a moderator and organizer of the installation, "Safety Blankets: Discourse on Neurodivergence", currently presented in the PhxArt’s administration building. This panel discussion and reception will also mark the closing of the installation and celebrate the artists participation and collaboration with the Phoenix Art Museum.

Safety Blankets: Discourse on Neurodivergence, installation presented in PhxArt’s administration building. This installation showcases quilt and textile works by 15 artists from Arizona and across the U.S. who depict their lives and experiences as neurodivergent people, thereby disrupting misconceptions, sparking connections and discourse, and challenging the meaning of neurodivergence. Works include 10 intentional universal design elements for neurodivergent and disabled people, and their fabrics evoke an expanded understanding of encounters artists may have and what occurs within their minds and bodies.
