Join PhxArt’s Selig Family Chief Curator, Olga Viso, and master printmaker, John Armstrong, for an intimate in-gallery conversation exploring the artistry of George Elbert Burr, celebrated for his evocative etchings of the American Southwest. This close looking experience invites guests to examine Burr’s intricate prints up close, with the aid of magnifying glasses, and to gain deeper insight into his technical mastery and creative process.

Discover how Burr’s work, part of the Phoenix Art Museum’s extensive collection of nearly 5,000 prints and drawings, reflects both the precision and expressive potential of printmaking. This special program offers a rare opportunity to engage directly with the Museum’s works on paper and to appreciate the nuances often hidden in plain sight.
