STITCH CIRCLE WITH PIP COFFEE + CLAY
Whether you crochet, knit, embroider, quilt, or explore any kind of fiber art, you’ve found your crew. The PIP Coffee + Clay Stitch Circle is a come-as-you-are space to work on fabric-based projects, sharing thoughts, progress and ideas with others. PhxArt and PIP Coffee + Clay are teaming up this First Friday for an evening of fiber fun. Meet other fabric artists, see their works in progress, and dive into your own small weaving project. Bring that half-finished scarf that’s been living in your bag or start something brand new. We’re here to unwind, share tips, swap stories, and stitch our hearts out together. Grab your yarn, thread, or any small fabric-based project and join the circle. Please, no wet mediums or materials.
LUMINARIA MAKING AND DANCE PERFORMANCE WITH SAFOS DANCE THEATRE
Experience an evening of dance and luminaria with Safos Dance Theatre. The evening will begin with a workshop that will provide materials and instructions for making luminarias, a traditional craft of New Mexico. The workshop will be followed by a performance of select dances from Stories From Home, Safos Dance Theatre's current touring production.
MEET THE ARTIST
Meet artist Gennaro Garcia, whose vibrant tibor is featured in the North Wing re-opening. Garcia will share insight into his collaboration with Uriarte Talavera and his creative process behind these iconic ceramics. Afterward, visitors are invited to design their own Talavera-inspired tile, celebrating color, pattern, and heritage through hands-on artmaking.
CARD MAKING
Create your own vibrant card inspired by Flowers of the Punjab, an exhibition celebrating the region’s exquisite textiles and ornate floral motifs. Explore the intricate patterns and rich colors found in these works as you design a bloom-filled masterpiece to take home—presented by Lexus.
