Noh mask, Hannya, Unknown

Featured in Demonic, Divine, Human: Japan's Noh Theater. Created by skilled artisans, Noh masks allowed classical Japanese theater all-male acting troupes to express emotion and symbolism through music, dance, and drama. Slow down and let yourself be transported to a faraway land as Master Docent Lisa White spotlights the elaborately carved masks that brought Japan's Noh theater performances to life.

En exhibición en Demoníaco, divino, humano: El teatro Noh de Japón. Creadas por hábiles artesanos, las máscaras Noh permitieron que las compañías de actores masculinos del teatro clásico japonés expresaran emociones y simbolismo a través de la música, la danza y el drama.
